A Capital Campaign for an educational institution that has been championing tactile thinking for nearly 100 years.

At a time when established craft-oriented schools were transitioning toward the digital arts, Oregon College of Art and Craft’s campaign made the case for craft and making-by-hand as a foundation for innovation and invention.

The campaign focused on a mix of national foundational grants and regional money. Alumni were deployed to broadcast the case for the college’s relevancy through personal and video storytelling, targeted events, and PR outreach.

Campaign collateral emphasized the materiality of the college’s areas of study – wood, printmaking, textiles – and featured student artwork and workshop-based narratives.

Craft-based design sited in the larger community was spotlighted and celebrated
